It has been an extraordinarily tough winter this year - but finally the grass is growing and the hedgerows and trees are budding and slowly turning green - and our meringue sales are starting to increase - a sure sign of warmer weather on its way. We have some hens for sale again (see buy hens) and another batch of chicks have just come off the heat so they are now 4 weeks old. They should be starting to lay in August ready for Autumn egg sales. We tend to sell our older hens when they are just over 18 months old and sometimes we have some pullets (young hens just about to start laying) available. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Debs, who is involved in all things chicken, to the Laydilay team and to Belinda who is invaluable at keeping our books up to date.
Debs joined us in February but unfortunately had to move away in November! All the best to her in her new place. |
