Upon shutting the hens in at night, Andy happened to check a water trough to be met with a colony of newts. We have never seen newts in ‘the wild’ before so this is quite an unusual occurrence.

Laydilay is teeming with life at the moment – the swallows have returned to nest and are now being challenged with a new resident pair of sparrows!

Woohoo the first little eggs from our newest own reared flock!!!

Our young chicks are growing well and are exploring the great outdoors – our newest flock, ‘the Misties’ have just started laying.

The sheep have been shorn and the hedgerows are full of honeysuckle, dog roses and foxgloves. Summer has arrived 🙂
